Kids are awesome! We love kids at Christian Alliance Church! I was reading something online this week that highlighted some 5 year old kid responses to bible questions… check these out.
What did your learn today about Lot’s wife?
“Lot’s wife was a pillar of salt by day and a ball of fire by night.”
What is the seventh commandment?
“The seventh commandment is thou shall not admit adultery.”
What did Solomon do?
“Solomon had 300 wives and 700 porcupines.”
When did Moses die?
“Moses died before he ever reached Texas.”
What is the greatest miracle in the Bible?
“The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his son to stand still and he obeyed him.”
Why was Jesus born?
“Jesus was born because Mary had an immaculate contraption.”
Kids… they crack me up! I am so grateful that we have kids all over the place at our church. Just for the record… I could care less if they are loud… I never mind if they have lots of energy and run around… they can be noisy in the church service, and they can always come to my office to get chocolate. I love kids.
Of course we know that Jesus loved kids too. Jesus said, “If anyone causes one of these little ones — those who believe in me — to stumble. It would be better if a large millstone
were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.” Mark 9:42 Translation? “Don’t mess with my kids or I am coming after you!”
Yesterday our quiz kids had their year end retreat. It was so fun to come out and watch them compete in bible quizzing — hiding God’s word in their hearts. So proud of our quizzers! I love the energy in the building on Wednesday nights as it is full of kids coming to Kidz Zone and Willard Alliance Youth (WAY). It pleases my heart to see our kids stream from our sanctuary to go to Children’s Church to learn about Jesus. I can’t wait until our church is filled for the week for Vacation Bible School (June 5-9).
If you work with kids… Kidz Zone workers, Youth Sponsors, Children’s Church Workers, VBS Staff, Quiz Coaches… YOU ARE SOME OF MY HEROES! Thank you for investing in our kids! Thank you for the sacrifice of time! Thank you for being the hands, feet, eyes and words of Jesus! Thank you for the example that you are! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Parents and Grandparents… I hope you are taking advantage of the children and youth ministries here at CAC. Please do not underestimate the significance of the spiritual formation that can take place in kids and teens. Make spiritual development at home and in church one of your highest priorities. You have just over a handful of years to instill Christian values and beliefs into children before they head out into the world. Use them wisely!
