Perhaps you have noticed the white crosses in front of our 224 location this month. They are there to remind us of the sanctity of life. I am so thankful for our youth ministry giving us such a visual reminder of the importance of life. Since 1973, over 60 million unborn children have been aborted in our country. Children who didn’t get a chance to grow up and achieve the potential that their Creator intended. How the heart of God must break over the depravity of Humanity. In Mark 10 we see Jesus’ heart on this so clearly… “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them and blessed them.”
I have prayed over the years that our nation would be broken over this sin and that we would repent of it. Each life is precious in the eyes of Jesus because He has created each one to know and enjoy Him forever. May God forgive us for our sin, and may He spark life change in our nation… and may He use us to do it.
What can you do? You can support organizations like Abigail Pregnancy Services that operate out of our Maple Street location. They are dedicated to educating women on alternatives to abortion and they do an outstanding job. Mark you offering envelope for Abigail, and we will see that they receive your gift. And… you can vote. In just a little over a week, we have the opportunity to vote for those running for public offices and seats in our judicial system, and we can cast our votes for those who are Pro-Life. To assist you in this effort, we have placed a voting guide at the Welcome Center and in the church bulletin to help you vote wisely. Let’s make it our mission to protect the unborn!
